The California Tourist Board has published a free e-book and magazine that focuses on California driving holidays throughout the state.
Get maps and info for road trips from San Diego to the Redwoods and including the Central Valley, Gold Country, the High Sierras and the drives can be broken down into day trips or weekenders.
Just make sure to offset your carbon emmissions.

Golden Ticket Awards
The Golden Ticket Awards recently held, are presented to the best in the amusement industry as voted by an international poll.
Cedar Point won the top award (for the 10th year in a row) for best park, in the 2007 Golden Ticket Awards.
Disneyland picked up several awards in the best park category as well as in categories including cleanest park, friendliest park, nighttime production (Fantasmic), indoor coaster (Space Mountain) and dark ride (Indiana Jones and Pirates of the Caribbean).
Other winners included, Legoland (Carlsbad) — best kids park, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk — best seaside park, and Knott’s Berry Farm’s Halloween Haunt (Buena Park) — best Halloween event.
California knows how to party.

In an attempt to update an ancient wonders list with a worldwide internet poll, some creative swiss bankers have started up the new 7 wonders of the world.
While I am disappointed that neither Athens or Sydney made this new list, Yahoo reports UNESCO, the UN cultural body that designates world heritage sites, is not amused.
Wikipedia gives a quality story where you can learn more, about the all the wonders of the world, including ancient, modern, cultural and natural.

No Bull
If you are interested in the ultimate in Spanish adventures, where you can risk your life by day and party all night, then you should be in Pamplona this weekend.
The 'encierro' or The Running Of The Bulls, are held in towns and villages throughout Spain during the fiesta season, usually in the run-up to the bull-fights. The most famous, is that of the nine-day Festival of San Fermín in Pamplona.
It is held at eight o'clock each morning from the 7th to the 14th of July and involves running in front of bulls to lead them from their pen up and into the bull-ring, and usually lasts from two to three minutes.
